Christantus Uche Fuels Comfortable Crystal Palace Triumph at Shelbourne.
Even though entering their maiden continental campaign, Crystal Palace are adapting very quickly. Without key players like forward Jean-Philippe Mateta and wing-back Daniel Muñoz, the Eagles left Dublin with a comfortable result that virtually guarantees them a spot in the Europa Conference League playoffs.
Another three points in their upcoming match against Finland's KuPS should be sufficient to seal straight passage to the knockout stages, particularly after a previous stumble against Strasbourg.
Squad Members Seize the Moment
This match provided a platform for several Palace's lesser-used players to impress. Christantus Uche, making only his second start after arriving on loan from Getafe, notched the scoring with a well-taken goal. Forward Eddie Nketiah contributed a another, scoring for the second consecutive succession.
The Shelbourne team that had concluded their domestic season proved no match against a mostly second-string Palace outfit. The visitors were already depleted by the news that Mateta and Muñoz are sidelined with leg problems.

After the break, coach Oliver Glasner took the chance to rest key individuals like Kamada and Wharton. Substitute Romain Esse almost scoring with his very first touch, but saw his shot blocked.
Esse was incredibly unlucky later on, seeing one attempt crash off both posts before being gathered on the line. Uche also missed a sitter of a chance, showing there is still room for improvement in his game.
A solitary concern for Palace was a late knock to Justin Devenny, who was forced off. This allowed 17-year-old forward Benji Casey to make his first-team debut, rounding off an otherwise positive night for the visiting side.
