Ever since the premiere of Campaign 4, fresh DM Brennan Lee Mulligan has maintained audience suspense with deep backstory, a diverse cast of heroes, and a gripping narrative featuring celestial beings, evil spirits, and malevolent powers growing in power within Dol-Makjar.
Heads-up: Key plot points for the third episode of Campaign 4 follow below.
The Soldiers Table Introduced
Episode 3 finished on a huge suspense moment and revealed the first table of heroes who will separate from the primary party to embark on their independent quest, apart from the additional parties.
This warrior group consists of Teor (brought to life by the voice actor), the nimble rogue (the talented performer), the fierce warrior (the cast member), Wicander Halovar (the player), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie Daymond).
Dividing the Cast
Considering 13 cast members, it was evident from the beginning that keeping everyone at a single group would be impossible.
This explains, the initial installments of this story serve as an Overture, weaving together the personal journeys before dividing into three smaller tables: Warriors, Schemers, and Explorers.
The Nature of the Soldiers Table
Per the Dungeon Master, the warrior group is for adventurers who prefer a traditionally charged combat and conflict-driven story mode where peaceful solutions are rare.
Initially, figures such as the reluctant priest the cleric might seem out of place, but the developments of the third episode demonstrate why these five characters are best suited for the warrior group.
Why They Must Go
For one thing, the group understands precisely where to go next after a intense opening clash with The Crow Keepers.
An old friend of Thjazi—whose passing started the story’s plot—used the enemy for his own means, breaking into the hidden lair, attacking Thimble, and swiping all the enchanted items to sell off.
The traitor then cleared his liabilities and fled to a fortified location in the remote area, north of the city, with Cyd Pridesire pursuing him.
Individual Reasons
Additionally, each adventurer has a personal reason to exit the urban setting:
- The rogue, as the companion and closest confidant, desires revenge.
- Kattigan is familiar with the northern area and cautions that it is a nasty environment.
- The warrior and The cleric, having resisted his relatives’ demands to execute the target and instead freed him, have no other options.
- Yet, their position as important members in House Halovar could enable the party reach areas they normally couldn’t.
- Additionally, The grateful character swore a eternal obligation to Wicander for his rescue and will now go with him anywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
Lastly, all of them are sought by the rulers that control the city for a range of causes, making staying in the city dangerous:
- The rogue and The hero are notorious outlaws.
- The strong figure and Wicander turned against the powerful family and the horde of evil beings they are allied with.
- The fighter is marked for death by the family.
This results in them no alternative but to travel to Timmony in quest for the antagonist.
What’s Next?
From episode three’s Cooldown, we find out that the Soldiers table won’t be around next week, leaving the remaining eight players to form the Questers and Strategists parties.
Fans can look forward to discovering which players will be where in Campaign 4’s concluding setup installment, available to watch on October 24.
